About Lucy Martin
Lucy Martin plays Ingrid in Vikings. Before that role, her screen work included Riviera and music videos. In a later interview she described Vikings as her first major screen experience and a formative opportunity to learn from the production’s cast and crew. Her other credits include Valentina in The Grand Duke of Corsica, Deirdre in The Seed and Gilly Belcher in Prizefighter.
The Seed is the clearest next film for seeing Martin in a different register. She plays a self-focused influencer in a horror story, and has discussed the challenge of finding the character’s humanity and working with the film’s practical creature effects. Boudica, in which she plays Cartimanda, offers a return to historical action rather than Ingrid’s continuing Kattegat storyline.
