About Alicia Agneson
Alicia Agneson grew up on a farm in Eskilstuna, Sweden, and began performing through dance, singing and musical theatre. She moved to London at fifteen to pursue stage work and played the lead in a production of Cinderella. A fellow performer encouraged her to try screen acting, leading to commercial work, auditions and eventually Vikings.
Vikings became an early screen breakthrough, with Agneson playing both Freydis and Katia. Her later work includes Eva in the wartime film Little Kingdom, Agent Simmonds in The Courier and Kristin “Kicki” Enmark in Clark. In discussing Little Kingdom, she described researching women’s experiences of wartime childbirth and loss. That role is an especially useful follow-up for viewers interested in the emotional work behind the courtly appearances of her Vikings characters.
